Khusan Khasanov

Khusan Khasanov is the chief editor of the Uzbek-language translation of the book “Principles of Islamic Finance”, authored by Yerlan Baidaulet. With over 22 years of rich professional experience, more than 13 of which he spent working with international institution such as the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), his areas of expertise include investment promotion and mobilization, economic and financial analysis, project management, and Islamic finance.

He graduated with honors from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Regional Studies and a Master’s degree in Marketing Management. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate from the University of South Wales (UK) and completed a senior executive program on “Management Competency” at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Since April 2012, Khusan Khasanov has served as the Representative of the Islamic Development Bank in Uzbekistan, and also works part-time as a senior lecturer at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. He is fluent in Uzbek, Russian, and English, and has working knowledge of German and Arabic.

Khusan Khasanov holds the CSAA (Certified Shari’ah Adviser and Auditor) certification from AAOIFI. He is married and has four children.

Seminars / Courses / Certifications

From 1997 to 2001, Khusan studied at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Regional Studies with honors. He scored 5,144 out of 5,702 points. His primary academic focus was on the economy of Arab countries, and his thesis was dedicated to the development of the European Union banking system.

In 2023, he completed several training courses and received professional certifications:

  • Successfully completed the Procurement Intermediate Workshop organized by IsDB and SETYM International
  • Obtained the AAOIFI CSAA certificate as a certified Shari’ah Adviser and Auditor
  • Completed training on Procurement Strategy and Plan under IsDB
  • Passed the New Procurement Framework Assessment related to IsDB’s updated procurement system

In 2019, he received the Extraordinary Performance Award for excellence in Islamic finance. That same year, he took part in the Country Procurement Workshop organized by IsDB in Tashkent.

In 2018, he participated in the practical training on Introduction to Islamic Finance.

In 2017, he joined the Awareness Creation Program on Islamic Banking and Finance hosted by IRTI.

In 2014, he attended the Project Procurement Workshop organized by the Islamic Development Bank.

In 2008, he participated in a seminar on tourism development held in Ürümqi, China.

In 2006, he attended a marketing management seminar organized by the Mediterranean Institute of Management in Cyprus.

In 2002, he took part in an extensive seminar on the European Union held in Bonn, Germany, gaining in-depth knowledge of EU policies, structures, and functions.

In 2001, he completed an intensive German language course at the prestigious Goethe Institute in Berlin, enhancing his communication skills in German.

2012 – Present:
Representative, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Uzbekistan
Leads the development and strengthening of cooperation between the IsDB Group and Uzbekistan. Oversees the initiation and implementation of projects, and provides key support during IsDB missions for project preparation and evaluation.

2018 – Present:
Senior Lecturer (Part-time), International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan
Delivers lectures on IsDB Group–Uzbekistan relations, Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) and markets, project management, Islamic banking, history of Islamic economic thought, and economic relations in Islam.

2013 – 2018:
Senior Lecturer (Part-time), Tashkent State University of Economics
Taught courses on investment evaluation and B2B marketing, contributing to students’ understanding of key economic and business principles.

Erwin Noekman

Erwin Noekman was born in 1974 in Jakarta, Indonesia. His academic background is extensive; he holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Trisakti University (Jakarta) and a master’s degree (MBA) in development and industrialization from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

Erwin Noekman is a leading expert with over 25 years of international practical experience in the field of Takaful and Re-Takaful. He has worked not only in Indonesia but also in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom.

From 2016 to 2025, he served as Executive Director and Treasurer of the Indonesia Sharia Insurance Association (AASI), directly contributing to the development of the country’s Islamic insurance sector. He was also appointed by the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan – OJK) as an external assessor for senior candidates in Takaful and Re-Takaful companies, conducting fit and proper tests to assess their qualifications and competencies.

His professional experience includes serving as Executive Director at Dewan Asuransi Indonesia (DAI), Chairman at Yayasan Asuransi Indonesia (YAI), Director and later Chairman of PT LSP Perasuransian Syariah, Chairman of PT Media Asuransi Indonesia (publisher of the Media Asuransi journal), and Independent Commissioner at an insurance brokerage company.

Erwin Noekman holds recognized professional certifications in Takaful and risk management from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the UK. He also actively applies his knowledge and experience in education, teaching Takaful courses and mentoring at various higher education institutions. He frequently participates in international and local events as a speaker, moderator, or panelist in seminars, symposiums, conferences, podcasts, and television programs.

Habibulloh Juraboyev

Habibulloh Juraboyev
Born in 1980 in Yozyovon district, Fergana region.
He received his education at the “Sayyid Muhyiddin Makhdum” madrasah in Andijan and at the Tashkent Islamic Institute. He holds a master’s degree with specializations in Islamic studies, manuscript studies, imam-khatib duties, and Arabic language teaching.
Currently, he serves as a senior specialist at the Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and as a senior lecturer at the Tashkent Islamic Institute.
